Student Testimonial
I live in São Paulo and I love big and cosmopolitan cities. I researched some options and Toronto from the beginning was the city that most interested me because of the diversity of people and great leisure options, restaurants, and places to visit, for all styles and tastes. I arrived at a pre-intermediate level; in Brazil I took private English classes but here I managed to gain more confidence to speak. I learned a lot about the lifestyle and culture of Canadians and other immigrants who live here. In the classroom, we not only learn about English but also about the cultural experience of another country. I improved a lot. I had tried to study English before and it never improved, for a long time I thought that English was "not for me" and that I would never be able to learn, and I would never be able to talk to people from other countries. Here at EC, I learned to have confidence in myself, to respect my learning time and I was able to see my evolution every day, every week. I really enjoyed David's classes and mainly because every day he brought stories, expressions of English spoken on the street. Learning that went beyond the classroom. I also really liked the book provided, it always had interesting topics for discussion. I really enjoyed David's classes and mainly because every day he brought stories, expressions of English spoken on the street. Learning that went beyond the classroom. I also really liked the book provided, it always had interesting topics for discussion. I rented an apartment together with my husband because he came with me. Certainly. I even recommended I had contacts with Brazilians. But I had the opportunity to live with Mexicans (a great friend I met here), Colombians, and French. But I also met some Koreans, Chileans, and Italians. They were always patient and ready to help me. In the moments when I wasn't feeling well, they always welcomed me and encouraged me to keep going and not give up. This was certainly very important in my journey. I loved being in Toronto during these 3 months. The city and the people are very welcoming and receptive. And at school from day one I was well received, I had help, I made friends, I learned and I gained the confidence to go further. EC and Toronto will always be in my fondest memories.

Teacher Testimonial
After graduating from university, I had a strong desire to travel and learn about other cultures. Teaching English gave me that opportunity and I spent two life-changing years in Korea. Moving to Toronto was, initially, a temporary situation – finish CELTA and head back abroad. I quickly realized it would not be so easy to leave this beautiful city. During the last year, many students have expressed similar sentiments.
Toronto is one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world; riding the subway in the morning is a testament to that, and provides a small glimpse beyond the borders and colours of a world map. There is always something to stimulate the eyes or provoke thought: the view from the CN Tower gives one a unique view of urban sprawl, while the graffiti scattered throughout downtown highlights the importance of art in the city.
EC Toronto is unique in that strong relationships form among teachers and students, and the student-centered approach makes lessons interactive and enjoyable. The friends, laughs, and experiences are bound to leave indelible marks.
