Originally founded in 1885, Roedean is one of the most prestigious and well know independent boarding schools in the UK. The school offers excellent facilities, including 40 acres of playing fields and space for several activities. Students’ accommodation is based in the boarding houses which consists of mostly single rooms and some twin and multi-bed rooms.

Learning

  • Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
  • 15 Hrs (20 x 45 minute lessons) per week morning or afternoon
  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students are in a class of the appropriate level
  • Maximum 20 students per class
  • We teach all levels, from beginner to advanced.
  • All courses include learning resources, materials appropriate to students age and level, and an end of course certificate.
  • Engaging classrooms with a positive learning atmosphere

Welcome

On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

 

Activities

On-site activities are scheduled on weekdays in between lessons, with some half-day trips and full-day excursion at the weekends. All activities are designed to continue learning in a fun and enjoyable way, encouraging students to develop life skills and make new friends through sport, activities and socially interactive games.

Student Welfare

We place the highest priority on care and supervision at all of our Embassy summer centres so you can rest assured students are well looked after. Members of staff are available 24 hours a day.

Student Services

Medical Information

If a student needs medical attention an Embassy staff member will help make an appointment. Group leaders must accompany the student to an appointment. An Embassy staff member will accompany any student that is not part of a group.

Office Address

The EC Academy office is located in the main building near the classrooms and a sub office in one of the boarding houses and is accessible to all students for all enquiries and information or help.
