Teacher Testimonial
A class is only as good as the students make it, which often takes hard work, dedication, and daring. It takes curiosity and boldness. Many EC New York students realize quickly: learning English is an experience as much cultural as it is linguistic; it is as much about making friends and meeting new people as it is studying grammar. I often see different personalities emerge from this realization; in a sense, students rediscover themselves while lost in traslation. This is a pleasure to witness.
I believe my role as a teacher depends on my ability to simplify so as to motivate; to clarify, so as to help students navigate the challenges of learning a new language as it is told from an American perspective. The Joy in teaching language come from the joy in engaging an international community with this rich-American heritage.
The best part of EC New York is its location, which stands at the center of one of the world's greatest cosmopolitans; it is an exciting as it is riped with stories, waiting to unfold for each one of EC Language's students. As an ESL teacher, having taught for two years, I try to equip students, to the best of my ability, with the language tools needed to share each one of their authentic New York and American experiences in a clear, comprehensible, and authentic manner.
