Student Testimonial
I have been with EC New York for 5 months. I really recommend it because everyone is kind and I can make a lot of friends from different countries. I liked meeting people from different cultures and trying new things. The school is clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff are kind. On my course we had small groups so it was easy to make friends. After school I liked going to Korea Town and Little Italy. EC school is the best of the best.

Teacher Testimonial
Having taught for 10 years in various ESL institutes in NYC and Seoul, I'd have to say that EC provides the most conducive classroom environment for the acquisition of learning English. The small classes and spacious classrooms at EC allow seating arrangements to be formed in circles and/or horseshoes as opposed to orderly rows.
The horseshoe and circular seating arrangements at EC lessen the barrier between teacher and students and the classroom becomes a more friendly place. There is much more opportunity for students to share meaningful information through speaking, eye contact, body language and gestures than in orderly rows.
Students who want to learn English must look for opportunities outside of the classroom to practice their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students can read English newspapers, websites, magazines, subway ads and signs. They can write emails in English, speak with native English speakers in stores and restaurants and listen to people speaking English in cafes and on television. Fluency can be achieved more quickly by practicing the aforementioned skills in authentic/real world situations.
