Description of Local Area
Well-located, only minutes away from the City Centre, this property lies in a popular student area offering a wide range of local amenities including bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Local supermarkets as well as the city’s popular Deansgate shopping and entertainment area are located within a few minutes of the residence, as is the tram station linking to Manchester Piccadily station.
Description of Accommodation
Vita Student at First Street is a brand new, luxurious studio development in Manchester’s bustling and eclectic city centre. The studio apartments include bespoke furniture, large comfortable beds, integrated kitchen appliances, wall mounted flat screen TVs, en-suite rooms and WiFi access throughout the building.

Arrival and departure
Arrival day: Saturday (Sunday arrival is allowed).
Check in: After 15:00
Early Check in is not allowed. Students who arrive before check in time can leave their luggage at the residence.
Late check in is allowed (Check in is 24 hours)Departure day: Saturday
Check out: Saturday 11:00
Late check out is not allowed. Students must check out at 10am, if their flights/alternative accommodation is not ready until much later on they can leave their luggage and collect it later that day.
Journey to school
15 - 17 minutes on foot. Head northwest onto First Street toward Whitworth Street and turn right on Whitworth street for 0.2 miles. Turn left at Gloucester Street followed by the first right. Continue straight up the stairs and then left onto Chorlton Street. EC Manchester is on the right.
Alternatively, take bus 256 from Medlock Street towards Piccadily gardens. Stop at Portland street/china town stop CK and walk down the road to EC Manchester on the left.
Cancellations
Cancellation prior to arrival
Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.
Cancellation after arrival
No refund will be provided to students cancelling or postponing after their arrival
Airport Pickup
If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. On arrival at Manchester airport you will have to walk to the "Arrow cars" stand outside the arrival lounge and give them your name, a taxi will be waiting for you. The driver will monitor your flight through their system and be at the attached pick up points 30 minutes after your plane actually lands.
If after waiting 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, Please ask at the information desk for them.
If you still have problems then please call the EC emergency number. If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +44 (0) 7474 460908 (from the information desk or a mobile phone).
Other ways to get to your residence
Train and trams are available from Manchester airport. Take the train to Piccadilly station from Manchester airport followed by the Eccles line tram to Deansgate – Castlefield stop. From there walk about 10 mins or if you prefer take the taxi, it should cost no more than 10GBP.
Arrival Procedures
EC must be notified of student arrival arrangements and expected times of arrival.
House Rules
- Students must be 18+ to use this residence
- Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender
- Students will be asked to complete an Authorisation for Damage deposit form on their first day of school. Students will need their bank/credit card to complete this form. The student will be informed prior to any deduction is taken from their card
- Guests are not allowed
- Smoking is not permitted. Anyone found to be smoking in the residence will be fined 1000GBP
- While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
- EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
