Located on Lexington Ave. and East 53rd Street, this residence is used exclusively by students from the USA and around the world.  Conveniently located a mile from Grand Central Station and the iconic Chrysler Building,  Students can also enjoy the many shops, restaurants, café’s and bars on 3rd and 2nd Avenues, a 5-minute walk away.

 

Description of Accommodation

Midtown East is a High End Residence Hall / Hotel Style building with tons of amenity spaces, including study areas, classrooms, gym, laundry, rooftop, and more!  Students will also have access to a student life office to help support any conflict resolution and Uwill Teleth (Teletherapy mental health services)

There are three types of rooms at Midtown East
Deluxe: A single room furnished with a twin-size bed, closet, desk, and chair. The apartment includes a kitchen, a closet, and an ensuite bathroom.

Standard: A single room furnished with a twin-size bed, closet, desk, and chair. The apartment includes a refrigerator and microwave, a closet, and an ensuite bathroom.

Twin: A double (two-person) shared room. The room is furnished with two twin-size beds, a closet, and two desks and chairs. The apartment includes a refrigerator and microwave, a closet, and an ensuite bathroom.

Arrival and departure

  • Arrival Day: Saturday (Sunday arrival possible)
    Check-in time: 13:00
    Early check-in is not allowed. 

    Late check -in is allowed: 

  • Departure Day: Saturday
    Check-out time: 11am (no late checkout)
    Check in: 4pm (no early check in). With photo ID and email confirmation from EC English.

Journey to school

MTA - 9 min down the 6 train from 51st to 42nd, and walk. Or 20 min walk from building

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply. After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Airport Pickup

If you booked an airport transfer, after Immigration, please follow these instructions: - Collect your luggage - Pass through Customs - Go to the airport terminal exit. - Your driver will be waiting outside (look for a sign with your name on it) NOTE: International transfers will arrive one hour after the flight lands and domestic arrivals will arrive 30 minutes after the flight lands to allow the students to retrieve their luggage. - If you do not see a driver with a sign with your name on it, please call the EC New York Emergency phone line at +1-631-612-4494

Other ways to get to your residence

Student can take a taxi, uber or lyft.

Arrival Procedures

Check in at front desk for building access and ID card, come with Photo ID, and copy of EC English booking confirmation

House Rules

  • Students need to be 18 years old to use this accommodation
  • The building is mixed gender.
  • Smoking is not permitted in any part of the apartment.
  • No pets or partying.
  • Yes - pre registered guests with 24 hours notice. No walk in guests. Guests will not be provided linen package. guests are permitted 3 over night stays per week. Guests need to provide first last email phone and copy of photo ID.
  • 2 week minimum stay.
