Algonquin college
Why Algonquin college?
Algonquin college is 1 of 11 Canadian polytechnic colleges. It offers career-oriented programs in Advanced Technology, Construction, Business, General Arts & Science, Community Studies, Hospitality & Tourism, Media & Design and Police & Public Safety. It is the only English-speaking college in Ottawa where international students can get all the benefits of an employment focused education.
The college boasts 6 research centres and the DARE (Discovery, Applied Research, and Entrepreneurship) District, an Entrepreneurship and Innovation incubator. Algonquin College’s Office of Applied Research provides experiential learning opportunities where students collaborate with staff and community to create innovative solutions, services and products.

Location
Algonquin college has 3 campuses – the main one in Ottawa and two smaller campuses in Perth and Pembroke. All campuses are easily accessed by public transport. The Ottawa location has its own bus station, and a subway station is coming soon. The college offers free bus transportation to the Perth campus, giving students an option to live in Ottawa while enjoying the amenities of the capital.

Application Information
Application deadlines
Algonquin college accepts applications until the program attendance is full. To ensure the applicant has a chance of gaining a place, please submit your application a minimum of 8 months in advance.
New Students Admitted
January, May, September. Please check your program start date, as start dates vary by program.
Application Requirements
ESTIMATED PROCESSING TIMES
Letter of Offer issued within 1 week.
1. Confirm your acceptance as outlined in the Letter of offer and make a payment for the first semester. You have 4 weeks to pay the deposit.
2. Letter of acceptance issued within 1 week.
3. Contact your local Canadian Immigration office and apply for your Study permit.
4. Send copy of Study Permit and proof of insurance to the college as soon as possible to be able to start course registration.
5. Full fees should be paid within 1 month after a program starts.
What do I need to apply?
All applicants:
- Passport photo and info page,
- Study permit / student visa / PR card / Canadian citizenship, if applicable,
- Medical insurance coverage, if applicable.
Postsecondary Certificate or Diploma applicants additional documents:
- Official high school transcript, in English, or with an official or notarized English translation, which shows the results for the last three years of high school. Students still in their last grade may apply before graduation, and once graduated are required to submit a final official transcript before course registration,
- Official high school graduation certificate, in English, or with an official or notarized English translation.
Bachelor degree applicants additional documents:
- Official high school transcript, in English, or with an official or notarized English translation, which shows the results for the last three years of high school. Students still in their last grade may apply before graduation, and once graduated are required to submit a final official transcript before course registration,
- Official high school graduation certificate, in English, or with an official or notarized English translation,
- All other official post-secondary transcripts from other institutions, if applicable.
Post-Graduate Certificate applicants additional documents:
- Official university transcript in English, or with an official or notarized English translation,
- Official university diploma, in English, or with an official or notarized English translation.
